Hold your horses

Tom could barely contain his excitement as he rushed towards the car dealership, eager to test drive the sleek, brand-new sports car he had been eyeing for weeks. He had been saving up his money for months, and the moment had finally arrived to make his dream a reality. But just as he was about to dash through the entrance, the salesman stepped in front of him, raising a hand to signal him to slow down.

"Hold your horses there, buddy," the salesman said with a chuckle. "Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Why don't you come inside and we can discuss the details first?"

Tom took a deep breath and forced himself to slow down. As much as he wanted to jump right in and take the car for a spin, he knew the salesman had a point. There were still plenty of steps to go through before he could drive off the lot. Reluctantly, he followed the salesman inside, reminding himself to keep his excitement in check and take things one step at a time.
